Spartan Sports Magnetic Rower
The Spartan Sports Magnetic Rower is a compacts rowing machine with provides eight different levels of resistance. When not in use, the rower is supposed to fold away to make storage easier, however that is not really the case and is best used as a non-folding rower. The machine’s digital monitor keeps a record of the time you have spent rowing, the calories you have burned during your workout, how many strokes you are making per minute and the total number of strokes you have rowed throughout your workout.
The primary problem with this machine is that the highest level of resistance provides no real challenge, which makes for a fairly poor workout. The monitor is also inaccurate and not very well built. The machine itself is certainly not as durable and sturdy as some of the more expensive models.
Features
- Resistance Levels: 8
- Space Saver Design–
- Calorie Readout–
- Strokes Per Minute Readout–
- Total # of Strokes Readout–
Pros
- Quiet
- Smooth operation
- Comfortable
- Inexpensive
- Fairly durable
Cons
- Not very well constructed
- Essentially useless monitor
- Very low resistance level, even at highest possible level of resistance
- Weight restriction of under 220 pounds, which may not be ideal for men who workout regularly (though anyone who works out regularly man or woman will probably not get much use out of the machine anyway due to the poor resistance)
Summary
This machine is inexpensive, so as a starter rower for a beginner it would make a good purchase. It is comfortable, quiet and smooth. Unfortunately, this is not worth the money for someone who is not a beginner and is looking for a challenge. As is sometimes the case with rowers, the monitor is also not very useful or accurate.
