Harbinger Durafoam Exercises Mat
The Harbinger 340100 Durafoam Exercises Mat is a double-sided, rolling, twenty-four by seventy-two inch mat which is advertised to be designed for stretching, yoga, pilates and other exercise routines. This mat does in fact work better than most for a wide variety of exercises. It does not slip when moving about and it is just cushiony enough to protect your back while doing abs work, but not too thick to make you imbalanced while doing yoga.
However, this mat does tend to stick to your skin. It’s worst feature, and perhaps a deal-breaker if you have a good nose, is the extremely strong odor of rubber and chemicals which the mat emits. The scent is so potent that it will transfer to your clothing and skin when you use it. The smell also does not go away after airing the mat out or after owning and using it for several months.
Features:
- 24 inches wide by 72 inches long
- Excluseve 3/8-inch thick DuraFoam pad makes floor workouts more comfortable
- Moisture-resistant skin is easy to clean
- Double-sided, non-slip surface grips the floor to prevent injuries
- Integrated self-strapping system for easy transport and storage
Pros:
- Cushioning provides support
- Doesn’t slip during strenuous routines
- Not too big which makes for easy storage
Cons:
- Very strong odor of chemicals and rubber
- Sticks to your skin
- Doesn’t look very nice
Summary:
This mat is quite versatile and can be used for a variety of routines as it is cushiony enough for abs work and doesn’t slip during routines requiring excessive movement. The primary downside, and it is a big downside, is that it has a very, very strong odor and you may not want it in your house, because it tends to stink up the entire place.
