Valeo Foam Exercise Mat
The Valeo Exercise Mat is a two foot by six foot foam mat. It can be wiped down and cleaned with a damp cloth, however the strong rubber odor which it emits never quite goes away. It is ribbed on one side and smooth on the other, however you cannot really use more than one side after awhile as the mat rolls up and will not roll completely back down.
This mat is best used for static workouts or ab work, as it slips easily when jumping or moving excessively on it and it is too cushiony to provide a good balance for yoga routines.
Features:
- 2 feet wide, 6 feet long
- Two mats in one – ribbed surface on one side, smooth surface on the other
- High-density, closed-cell foam for a comfortable workout
- Self-grip straps keep mat rolled for easy transport and storage
- Clean with a damp cloth
Pros:
- Thick foam cushioning which provides adequate padding for most workouts
- Soft
- Good for ab work
Cons:
- Stays rolled up at ends when laid out
- Hard to balance on the mat when practicing any routine which requires you to lift a leg or arm
- Not good for workouts which require excessive movement, as the mat will not remain steady
- Will tear if working out with shoes
- Strong odor
- Overpriced
Summary:
If you are looking for a mat for ab work and static routines then this is a good choice, however if you require balance (for yoga) or excessive movement (for cardio), this isn’t the mat for you.
